Coaches Information & DDSL Rulebook
Fixtures
…are fixed!
Only special requests made on the MONDAY prior to the weekend fixture will be considered. Email beechwoodfcfixsec@gmail.com
We will do our best to grant any requests for home games but cannot guarantee them! We do not have any control over away game KO times
We have to arrange fixtures / pitches for 52 squads which is a significant logistical challenge. Every change is extra work for us and the opposition fixture secs.
Final fixture details to be found in ClubLync, NOT the DDSL website. Make sure you have downloaded the ClubLync app or you will not receive notifications when there is a fixture change.
Home fixtures are done on Monday or Tuesday.
Away fixture details are not confirmed until they are marked as so on ClubLync. Requests for details are sent on a Monday and regularly chased throughout the week. If away fixture details are not yet there, it is because they haven’t been received and we are chasing.
Communication with Opposition
Please confirm your fixture with your opposition manager no later than Friday. Check their website/Facebook etc to get contact details. We do understand it is not always possible to find the opposition manager contact details, ask the Beechwood fixtures secretary if you can’t find them.
Contacting the opposition manager ensures you both have the same fixture information you also have each other’s details if there are any last minute issues on the day. Fixtures secretaries are not able to help with issues on match day, it is too late at that point.
Coaches/managers are not to contact opposition fixtures secretaries or DDSL fixtures secretaries. They are already dealing with 100’s of other clubs and a single point of contact is essential.
Communication with Parents
All managers are to set up WhatsApp groups with their parent groups for communcation.
Equipment
Training: Last one out turns out the lights. Last squads training on Tues/Thursday night must put away the goals and any other equipment across all pitches. Equipment is getting damaged.
Ordering equipment- please complete the form sent to you by Paul Foxton for new cones, balls, bibs, match tops etc. Old match tops must be returned before we issue new ones. Paul’s email is paul.foxton@gmail.com.
Match Day
Please arrange to have your team warming up with sufficient time before a match (30 mins). Managers please arrive on time to meet their visiting counterparts. Please stick to your training time allotted...otherwise you impact the whole days of fixtures.
Venues
For Match Day AND Training...a reminder for parents and coaches:
No parents on the pitch - only coaches please.
Respect schools parking policies i.e. No parking on roundabouts, grass areas, double yellows - no exceptions.
RHD - Park in designated car park.
Please send link to opposition re location parking availability e) No dogs, except in RHD (on lead!).
Friendlies
If your team is idle or game is cancelled and you are looking for a pitch to train, or play a friendly, please send your request to beechwoodfcfixsec@gmail.com and please be patient as DDSL fixtures take priority. It helps if you check the Beechwood website to see availability. Some weeks when we have a lot of home games or if the weather is bad space is difficult to find and we may not be able to provide an option to train.
Results
Fixture results will be posted by the DDSL which we will have to wait for...not in the clubs control.
Team Managers should return results each week in response to the email that is sent by the Beechwood Coordinator.
Postponement Requests
Each team is allowed two postponements per season and are allowed ONLY two. At least three weeks notice has to be given to the DDSL.
Request to be sent to beechwoodfcfixsec@gmail.com at least 3.5 weeks in advance with the following info:
- DDSL Division
- Date off requested
- Reason (players away is a simple one to use).
Teams that forfeit games without permission will be fined by the DDSL. See the Rule Book for details.
So if you have used up your postponements and you cannot field a Team you pay the fine
NB: Six weeks’ notice will be required should the team be going on a trip/tournament for a postponement.
