Meet our Technical Directors of Football

  • Connor Burke

Connor started to play football at 6. At the age of 14 however, he was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis (MS), curtailing his ability to play. By 17 he thought he would never play again, but his love for football drove him towards coaching. Starting as an assistant manager for Brookfield Celtic, he later moved to Tallaght Town to become their Academy manager, followed by a period at SDFL where he coached representative squads. Thankfully, Connor was able to return to play at the age of 18, retiring at 24.

During this time, he captained Brookfield Celtic Seniors winning two cups, one league and two promotions in the AUL before deciding to focus on coaching full time. Connor has been with Beechwood F.C. for over 4 years, working with squads from our Academy right up to u17s. He is an inspiration to us all.

Connor’s coaching Qualifications/courses completed include: UEFA C license holder, ITEC Gym Instructor, Level 4 Food and Nutrition, Level 5 Sport and recreation, FAI Football for All Workshop.

  • Jack Ryan

Jack joined Beechwood F.C. as an U5 player, coached by his father who was one of the original founders of the club. A competitive player, Jack was injured on a school Rugby tour with Gonzaga, forcing him to take time out from play. During this break, he took his UEFA A licence and went on to coach young players in Beechwood F.C. His passion for coaching had begun. At 24 Jack went to the US to coach in Major League Soccer with New York Red Bulls, one of the most progressive football clubs in the world. He won the supporters shield with them in 2015 before returning to Dublin.

Jack is currently our Director of Coaching and works with both our Underage and Snr team.

    Jack’s coaching qualifications/courses completed include UEFA A, UEFA B, UEFA C, National D Kick Start 1 & 2, PDP 1 &2, Top Soccer Football for All.

  • David Collins

Dave, one of the key pillars of our coaching community, is an Irish former footballer who played in the Football League for Oxford United and Wigan Athletic having also spent a few years of his early Snr career at Liverpool FC.

Dave comes from a family with a strong football pedigree - his family includes a number of other footballers, including his son Nathan Collins currently with Wolverhampton Wanderers; His brother, Eamonn Collins, played with many sides including Southampton and Portsmouth, before going on to manage St Patrick’s Athletic. His eldest son Josh Collins is also a footballer who plays for League of Ireland Premier Division side Waterford.

Dave’s wealth of experience on and off the pitch is invaluable to the club, working primarily with our older underage squads and the Senior team.

Parent Volunteer Coaches

The Club relies on volunteer parents to provide coaching and management for all squads – we currently have 150+ in all!

Whilst supported by our panel of professional coaches, our Parent Coaches complete the relevant FAI Kickstart coaching programmes, are Garda Vetted by our Child Welfare team and complete the FAI’s Child Safeguarding course.
